In August 2025, PT. Mindotama Avia Teknik successfully carried out the installation of earthquake detection instruments manufactured by Sanlien Technology Taiwan, as part of a grant program provided by the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) Taiwan to BMKG Indonesia.

This initiative represents a significant collaboration between international institutions and national agencies in strengthening Indonesia’s earthquake monitoring capability. The deployment of these advanced instruments is intended to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and responsiveness of seismic monitoring systems, particularly in regions with high seismic activity.

The installation was conducted across 18 strategic locations in Indonesia, comprising 10 sites in West Sumatra and 8 sites in Bali. These areas were selected due to their geological characteristics and vulnerability to seismic events, making them critical for the expansion of monitoring coverage and early detection capabilities.

PT. Mindotama Avia Teknik played a key role in the implementation of this project, including site preparation, equipment installation, system integration, testing, and verification. All installations were carried out in accordance with technical standards and operational requirements to ensure optimal system performance and long-term reliability.

The earthquake detection instruments provided through this grant are designed to support real-time data acquisition and contribute to faster and more accurate earthquake analysis. This enhancement is expected to strengthen BMKG’s ability to provide timely information and improve disaster mitigation efforts across the region.
